Dr. Gillum was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, and attended college at the University of Colorado in Boulder where he studied anthropology. After graduating he moved to Costa Rica to work as a whitewater raft guide. He lived there for five years spending his free time volunteering in the local clinics where he developed a passion for medicine and helping underserved populations. He decided that a career in healthcare was what he wanted to do with the rest of his life.
Dr. Gillum returned to the University of Colorado and earned his Doctor of Medicine. He completed his residency at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction and was awarded the Justina Ford Award for Humanitarianism and Clinical Competence at the conclusion of his residency. Dr. Gillum is excited to be in Summit County to provide full spectrum family medicine to patients in the community.
Dr. Gillum spends his free time mountain biking, skiing, fishing and climbing in the mountains of the state that he loves and calls home.
